DESCRIPTION
Centring rings are an indispensable part of rim assembly. The need for centring rings arises during the assembly of non-original rims, i.e. rims whose centre hole does not match the hub of the vehicle.
The main function of the centring rings is to eliminate the void between the centring hole of the rim and the hub. If this space is not eliminated, there is a risk of wheel vibration, vibration of the steering wheel, which causes increased wear on the steering and suspension components of the car. These problems most often occur at speeds of 90-120 km/h.
How do I size the rings?
For the correct self-selection of the centring rings, we need to check 2 parameters:
1 - The diameter of the rim's central hole (which will correspond to the outer diameter of the ring)
2 - Hub diameter (which will correspond to the inner diameter of the ring)
The diameter of the centre hole of the rim can be consulted in the manufacturer's specifications and the diameter of the hub can be consulted in the vehicle documentation.
