The main purpose of centring rings is to eliminate the empty space between the centring hole of the wheel rim and the hub. Failure to remove this space may result in wheel vibration and steering wheel vibration, which causes increased wear on the steering system and suspension components of the car. These problems most often occur at speeds of 90-120 km/h.
How to choose the size of the rings?
To correctly select centring rings yourself, you need to check two parameters:
1 – The diameter of the central hole of the rim (which will correspond to the outer diameter of the ring)
2 – The diameter of the hub (which will correspond to the inner diameter of the ring)
The diameter of the rim's centre hole can be found in the manufacturer's specifications, and the diameter of the hub in the vehicle documentation.
